Presenting Hunter's take on the traditional store opening, the event saw 28 dancers take over the iconic London street with a production inspired by Singin' in the Rain, Gene Kelly's famous performance, and Hunter's heritage of protection from the weather.
With the production paying homage to the city, the principle dancers arrived on one of London's iconic red buses, wearing the Original Poncho, the Original Chelsea, and the Original Bubble Umbrella from the Hunter Original autumn/winter 2014 collection. Using the traditional lampposts as props, Regent Street's unmistakable architecture and LED screens in the flagship's windows as a backdrop, a supporting cast of dancers made their way along the street to the store in a slow motion routine.
Crowds gathered on the street to watch the event unfold as music played from speakers and the dancers took their positions to perform high-energy choreography, featuring acrobatics and parkour. In the unique spirit of Hunter, the Singin' in the Rain inspired performance collided with one of the country's most exciting parkour talents as he scaled the side of the global flagship store. The production climaxed with torrents of water spraying from hoses down onto Regent Street, the performers and their Hunter umbrellas.
